All New Roof Support

This bank barn in Douglassville, PA, had rotted at the top due to a leaky roof. BCBB used new oak to replace the old oak beams. Otherwise, the timbers were replaced and pegged in exactly like original. (2004)

This before picture of the same barn shows the extent of the timber work that was done.  The owner’s father had made some modifications to the original loft in order to farm chickens at one time, hence the upper loft story. We replaced sills, tie beams, queen posts, rafters, purlins, and put on a metal roof. For finished photo, see Roof section.
